About
The word 尖沙咀 is formed by combining three characters: 尖 (jiān), meaning "sharp", 沙 (shā), meaning "sand", and 咀 (jǔ), meaning "mouth" or "promontory", to descriptively denote a geographical feature, a sharp, sandy point of land, which is the namesake for the area Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong.
