About
醡 is a phono-semantic compound: the semantic radical on the left, 酉, relates to fermentation, alcohol, and wine vessels, while the phonetic component on the right, 窄, gives the sound. Historically, it named a wine press, the specialized agricultural equipment and the physical process of pressing liquid from fermented grains or fruits.
