old variant of 虛|虚[xū]

Etymology

About

The character 虗 consists of the tiger radical 虍 enclosing the lower component 丘, which means hill or mound. This arrangement is a structural variant of the standard character 虛. Both share the same core meanings of emptiness, voidness, hollowness, or physical weakness. The variant arose from a historical substitution of the lower component but did not become the standard form, and is now found primarily in classical texts and historical calligraphy.
