Etymology
About
覐, an obsolete variant and precursor of 覺 (jué), means 'to wake up, become aware, or perceive'. It combines the semantic component 見 (jiàn, 'see, observe') at the bottom with 𦥯, the upper part of 學 ('learning'), at the top, together suggesting that awareness is acquired through observation and learning. The simplified form 觉 replaces the complex top with a simpler element and uses simplified 见, while representing the same processes of perception and awakening.
