About
喾 is a proper noun referring to Diku, one of the legendary Five Emperors in ancient Chinese mythology, and rarely appears outside historical or genealogical contexts. The traditional form 嚳 combines the component 學 (meaning 'to learn') on top with 告 ('to tell') below, but the simplified character 喾 replaces the complex upper part with the much simpler 兴, while retaining 告 at the bottom. This abbreviation is largely symbolic and does not follow standard phono-semantic character construction rules.
