Its traditional form 顢 uses the full head radical 頁 alongside the phonetic 滿. The head radical originally indicated a connection to a physical feature, describing a large, broad face. Over time, the meaning shifted to describe a mental state. Today, it appears almost exclusively in the compound 颟顸, meaning muddle-headed or incompetent, transferring the radical's implication from physical appearance to mental fog.
