Etymology

Originally written as 屚, which depicts rainwater (雨) leaking through a house roof (屋). The 氵 (water) component was added later to clarify the meaning.

漏 originally depicted rain (雨) leaking through a roof (尸) as the character 屚. Later, the water radical 氵 was added on the left to reinforce the meaning of liquid seepage.
