Simplified form of 體. The foundation (本) of a person (亻) is their body (体).

About

体 is a simplified form of the traditional character 體. In 體, the bone radical 骨 on the left indicated the skeleton, while the right side was a phonetic component. The original meaning is the physical body of a person or animal, which later extended to denote a system, structural form, stylistic genre, or the embodiment of an abstract idea.
